Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued posting her music online including her self-released single Bound. The track Sweat it is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. The 8th of December was the day she confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded alongside Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then, in November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles titled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded together with Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. The track was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been watched over 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
